I have just finished a new baby afghan for my husbands niece. She is due this month (April) and isn't sure if she is having a boy or girl. That is why I picked green and yellow. I just hope she likes it. I really like the colors and how it turned out. I used the circle in a square pattern that I found on Lion Brand Yarn website. It was really easy and went pretty fast.
I love to crochet will crochet just about anything! I do make baby hats and sell on ETSY. You can go to my shop by going to www.etsy.com/shop/LilNogginsHat I also love recipes so might find a few of them or possibly some crafts that I have done. So grab a cup of coffee and take a look

Oh January
Well it's 11:03 can't sleep!!! I hate when I do that. I'm lucky that I have tomorrow off. Wouldn't be able to think very well at work if I had to go in! :) Well we had our snow our first week in January. I think that it snowed everyday that first week. The it was bitter cold and today well its warming up a bit. The snow is now turning into ice so you have to watch your step on the side walks, parking lots ect...... I wonder what the weather will do next week??? Oh it's Ohio you just never know what is going to happen with the weather here any ones guess. Last Week my daughter house caught fire. They were home and her husband was able to keep it under control. Took the fire dept. 20 min. to get there. What a mess!!!!! But everyone is just fine. Part of the house had fire damage. I need to check with my daughter to see if the afghans that I made for the girls are ok. If not then I guess I will be making some new afghans again. I did finish the black afghan will post a picture of it soon. Now I'm trying to finish the baby afghan. Will post a picture of it also.

Christmas 2009
Well we have had a nice Christmas so far. Our kids & grandchildren will be coming to our house today. I will make sloppy joes for the people that are burn't out on the turkey and ham thing. And of course I will set out the rest of the cookies, ect... that I have made. Good way of getting rid of all the sweet things that don't need to be around me!!! Thats all I would eat if I had it my way. No snow this Christmas what bummer :( Hope that we get some yet today or tonight. Probably won't start snowing till I go back to work Monday morning. I hate that early morning drive (4:30 A.M) always seems like I'm the only one out at that time of the day. I make the tracks in the snow for everyone else HA! At least next week will be a three day week then back to the old schedule 5-6 10 hr.days. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

Crochet Hook Caddy
I found this cute crochet hook caddy pattern. Since I have so many hooks I thought that it would be good to make one. The only problem is I need another one. It isn't big enough. I think I will make another one then I can keep the hooks that I don't use to much in it. I will just make it a different color. Here is the link for the caddy I found this cute crochet hook caddy pattern. Since I have so many hooks I thought that it would be good to make one. The only problem is I need another one. My Two New Afghans

Well I have started working on two afghans. Just about finished with a baby afghan and I"am still trying to figure out what I want to do with my other afghan that I"m doing. Not to sure about the trim on my black afghan can't decide if I like the color of trim that I"m using. The trim that is on there right now will frame the center squares then there will be more squares added on. It will hopfully give the afghan a quilt look at least that is what I'm trying for. The baby afghan is called "circle in a square". Found the pattern on Lionbrand.com. I will trim the baby afghan in pink. Just need to finish one more row of squares then it should be done. Then I can put it on Ebay to sell. Will probably be another week or two before I put the black one on Ebay. Hope they both sell.

My New Project

Don't have a picture of the baby afghan yet. Its's just about done. I have started this afghan. I think I will sell this one don't need it here all ready have plenty laying around here :) I have started with the center and will work out. Wasn't sure what kind of look that I was going to end up with. but here is a pic of the lay out just need to start sewing the square together. I think that after I sew the center sqs together I will trim the center with a contrasting color Maybe linen or the dk red color haven't decided yet. Then I want to trim the outside with a sq also not sure what kind or what colors I'm going to use.

Oh September!!!
Well I'm have decided to try to sell some of the things that I crochet. So I'm starting with baby blankets. Right now I am crocheting one that has the sq. called circle in a square. Got the sq pattern off of Lion Brand website. Looks nice. Its circle is pink the square is white. Not sure about the size, thinking about maybe something to fit a crib . Then I have to figure out how much I need to charge for the blankets. Guess it will just depend on if it is one piece or squares that I have to join. Could be interesting, don't really now if I will sell any or not.If I don't sell any then I will have some for people that are having babies! Will post a picture when I get a couple of rows done. Our yearly street fair starts next week, I know I didn't make an afghan like I wanted to so I could enter it in the fair! My sister has already said that I should have done that. Maybe I will try next year, something to ponder. Its just trying to find the right item to crochet and time. I 'm not really sure what they enter either will have to check that out. I know last year the news paper(here in Bellville) a husband and wife won most them. All the grandchildren will come to our house Saturday. I always buy ride bracelets for them so they can ride what ever they want as many times as they want. Then they come back to the house rest eat and sometimes go back down in the evening. There aren't that many street fairs anymore I think Bellville and Loundnville are the only ones around here that actually shut down the main streets for the fair. http://www.bellvilleohio.net/fair-construction.htm Can't beat this admission is free, entertainment is free. There are rides and plently of food vendors.

Babys ABC Afghan
In October I will become a great great Aunt! I'm to young to become one!! I thought that when you were a great or great great aunt that you had to be alot older than 50+ something :) At least I haven't hit the great grandma yet. I had better be 70+ when that happens! I always told my daughter that I didn't want to be a grandma till I was 65 thats when you were suppose to be a grandma!! HA HA thats' not what happened. I became a grandma at 42 I cried I was still young!! it made me feel soooo old!! I felt like it was the end of the world. But I got over it when Brooklynn was born! Oct. 10th. She was so cute her little face was so chubby and round and so beautiful. She actually had some hair not like her mom and Uncle when they were born. They were bald! I didn't think that they were ever going to get any hair but they did. Tons of it. But anyways I'm making a baby afghan by Caron. It is called Baby's ABC'S . I got the pattern off the website http://www.crochetnmore.com/babysabcsafghan.htm. It looked harder than it was just time consuming. Plus I have been working 10 hr. says at work so havent' been able to really sit down and work on it like I want to. I'am just about finished with the afghan. Here are some pictures of when I started it. I will post a finished picture of it should be done this weekend I hope! :)

Train Afghan
Well I have started putting the train afghan together. FINALLY! I'm also repairing Brooklynns afghan. Seems that it didn't stay together very good, so I'm just tearing it apart and going to redo it. Seems like it would be easier doing that than trying to fix the squares while they are still together. I have made Brooklynn a different ipod purse. Guess the other one wasn't quite big enough. Just need to put the finishing touches on it. I think that I will put a long strap on it so she can put it around her neck or shoulder plus fix it so she can attach it to the side of her purse or hook on her belt loop. Since Brianna has seen Brooklynns ipod purse now she wants one too. So guess I will have to make one for her also. Still would like to make something to enter in our fair that we have in the fall. Don't know if I will or not.

Well still working on;the train afghan but I'am just about done with all the squares!!! Then I will have to put all the little squares together!!!. I know I can do it!! At least that is what I keep telling myself, I'm sure that it will go faster than I think it will. I'm working on the railroad right now, have all the cars, sky finished. I have made another cradle purse need to send it to my husband's niece in Flordia. I think she will like it. I bought a little doll to put in it and made a little blanket. I can't wait to get started on something different. But I don't want to do anything new till I finish the train. I just have been putting everything else before it . Well better get busy need to finish the railroad. :)

Finishing Train Afghan
Since it is freezing cold out I have again started on the train afghan. It is really a afghan for a small boy. Made with squares then you sew them together to make the picture. I will post pictures as I 'm sewing the afghan together. Plus I'm working on another cradle purse. I have finished a camera case and ipod case for my granddaughter Brooklynn. I have one more ipod case to make for our other granddaughter Brianna just waiting to see how big her ipod is so the ipod will fit in snug. Here is a picture of Brooklynns camera case and ipod case. The camera case has a button sewn on it and fastens with velcro. I think that Brooklynn will like it. Can't wait to give it to her.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! 2009! Last year just flew by. Guess I was a little busy. Made five afghans this last year, plus four baby blankets and I don't know how many potholders, dish clothes. So for 2009 I have made a cradle purse for our granddaughter and two dog coats. I'am getting ready to make some more cradle purses. They are so easy and fast to make. I found a little 4" doll at Walmart for a $1.00. Can't beat that. I' am in the process of ordering some yarn from redheart. Want to try to make Cathedral Rose Window Afghan. The colors in the afghan are so pretty. I also have another one that I would like to start on also. Getting ready for Christmas!
Well I'm trying to crochet pot holders and dish cloths to put in the gift baskets that I'm making for our four children and their families. I only have a couple more dish cloths to make. As far as the baking go's so far I have made pumpkin biscotti , chocolate biscotti(of course white chocolate is drizzled on top of both biscotti's),two pineapple breads, now I need to make 2 Apricot-Orange Breads & 6 Zucchini Breads ( for work). I have Grandma's Hot Chocolate mix & Mocha mix made and put in the bags with the ribbons on the packages. Just need to bag up my homemade Granola , then I will be just about done. Of course I will need to add my Gingerbread Stars and Men to the baskets of goodies. But I can wait to bake the gingerbread cookies next weekend. I will have to go buy my baskets next weekend also. Thought I would post a picture of my Pumpkin Biscotti and my Hot Chocolate mixes

Thinking about Christmas
Well its time to start thinking about Christmas . I need to bake cookies for family and for some of the people that I work with. I just need to sort through my recipes ,I have some new ones that I haven't put in the baskets before and of course I will put in the favorites. I always make up nice little homemade gift packages for eight people at work. And for family they get large gift baskets that have homemade cookies, granola, choc. covered preztels, hot choc. mix, homemade breads. The baskets always end up bigger than what I plan!! :). I also need to go to the craft store and check out some ribbon to tie on the baskets, not sure what I really want. Think I will hang little gingerbread men ornaments (that I make) on them also. Ok now that I have that figured out.....just need to get busy with rest. Like making a list :), setting up the Christmas tree and a few other christmas items around the house. Better finish this cup of coffee and get busy its early in the morning sooooo ....... I should be able to get alot done today....... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I Love to Crochet
I love to crochet!!! I taught myself how to crochet about 20 years ago. Was just a homemaker then, guess I shouldn't say just a homemaker. That is a job you know. I started just making granny squares. I had so many squares I didn't really know what to do with them. So my daughter and one of the neighbor girls decided that they needed rugs, blankets ect ..... for their Barbie dolls. I crocheted several together for the blankets and rugs for the Barbie homes. They were so happy played for hours with the dolls. Now I'm making squares for my granddaughters Barbie dolls ! They love them. I have several projects started now. Don't know what one will be finished first. I usually do have several projects going at the same time. Just finished a Baby Blanket for my husbands brother and his girl friend. Made a cig. case for my sister-in law. I'm currently working on a child's afghan blanket with a train on it will post a picture of it as I start putting it all together. Not sure who will get the train. I want to start a afghan now to enter in our fair in Sept., maybe I will enter more than one just depends on how everything works out :)
