My Two New Afghans

Well I have started working on two afghans. Just about finished with a baby afghan and I"am still trying to figure out what I want to do with my other afghan that I"m doing. Not to sure about the trim on my black afghan can't decide if I like the color of trim that I"m using. The trim that is on there right now will frame the center squares then there will be more squares added on. It will hopfully give the afghan a quilt look at least that is what I'm trying for. The baby afghan is called "circle in a square". Found the pattern on Lionbrand.com. I will trim the baby afghan in pink. Just need to finish one more row of squares then it should be done. Then I can put it on Ebay to sell. Will probably be another week or two before I put the black one on Ebay. Hope they both sell.

My New Project

Don't have a picture of the baby afghan yet. Its's just about done. I have started this afghan. I think I will sell this one don't need it here all ready have plenty laying around here :) I have started with the center and will work out. Wasn't sure what kind of look that I was going to end up with. but here is a pic of the lay out just need to start sewing the square together. I think that after I sew the center sqs together I will trim the center with a contrasting color Maybe linen or the dk red color haven't decided yet. Then I want to trim the outside with a sq also not sure what kind or what colors I'm going to use.

Oh September!!!

Well I'm have decided to try to sell some of the things that I crochet. So I'm starting with baby blankets. Right now I am crocheting one that has the sq. called circle in a square. Got the sq pattern off of Lion Brand website. Looks nice. Its circle is pink the square is white. Not sure about the size, thinking about maybe something to fit a crib . Then I have to figure out how much I need to charge for the blankets. Guess it will just depend on if it is one piece or squares that I have to join. Could be interesting, don't really now if I will sell any or not.If I don't sell any then I will have some for people that are having babies! Will post a picture when I get a couple of rows done. Our yearly street fair starts next week, I know I didn't make an afghan like I wanted to so I could enter it in the fair! My sister has already said that I should have done that. Maybe I will try next year, something to ponder. Its just trying to find the right item to crochet and time. I 'm not really sure what they enter either will have to check that out. I know last year the news paper(here in Bellville) a husband and wife won most them. All the grandchildren will come to our house Saturday. I always buy ride bracelets for them so they can ride what ever they want as many times as they want. Then they come back to the house rest eat and sometimes go back down in the evening. There aren't that many street fairs anymore I think Bellville and Loundnville are the only ones around here that actually shut down the main streets for the fair. http://www.bellvilleohio.net/fair-construction.htm Can't beat this admission is free, entertainment is free. There are rides and plently of food vendors.

Babys ABC Afghan

In October I will become a great great Aunt! I'm to young to become one!! I thought that when you were a great or great great aunt that you had to be alot older than 50+ something :) At least I haven't hit the great grandma yet. I had better be 70+ when that happens! I always told my daughter that I didn't want to be a grandma till I was 65 thats when you were suppose to be a grandma!! HA HA thats' not what happened. I became a grandma at 42 I cried I was still young!! it made me feel soooo old!! I felt like it was the end of the world. But I got over it when Brooklynn was born! Oct. 10th. She was so cute her little face was so chubby and round and so beautiful. She actually had some hair not like her mom and Uncle when they were born. They were bald! I didn't think that they were ever going to get any hair but they did. Tons of it. But anyways I'm making a baby afghan by Caron. It is called Baby's ABC'S . I got the pattern off the website http://www.crochetnmore.com/babysabcsafghan.htm. It looked harder than it was just time consuming. Plus I have been working 10 hr. says at work so havent' been able to really sit down and work on it like I want to. I'am just about finished with the afghan. Here are some pictures of when I started it. I will post a finished picture of it should be done this weekend I hope! :)

Brooklynns Afghan

I have finished Brooklynns afghan. I had to take two rows off last night because I got in to big of a rush and sewed them on backwards !! DUH! Hopefully I will be able to give her the afghan this next weekend. Of course Desi had to get in the picture again! Seems like he is always trying to lay on everything that I am crocheting. Silly kitty. I got up at 5:00 this morning to finish this thinking that the coffee was going to be done and the dumb coffee maker decides to quit ! So I'am going to get dressed and go to walmart going to buy a new one. Hope this one lasts a little longer cause I need my coffee in the morning !

Brooklynn's Afghan

Brooklynns afghan is just about done. All I need to do is finish sewing the afghan together. As you can see Desi my persian kitty likes the afghan. I think I'm going to have a hard time getting him to move so I can work on it again. Have put the train afghan off so I can finish this one. Plus trying to plant some outside in the flower bed. I got alittle carried away when I was digging in the flower bed made it bigger than I planned!! so that means I have to buy more plants that will come up every year! But thats ok it will look nice when its all done.

Train Afghan

Well I have started putting the train afghan together. FINALLY! I'm also repairing Brooklynns afghan. Seems that it didn't stay together very good, so I'm just tearing it apart and going to redo it. Seems like it would be easier doing that than trying to fix the squares while they are still together. I have made Brooklynn a different ipod purse. Guess the other one wasn't quite big enough. Just need to put the finishing touches on it. I think that I will put a long strap on it so she can put it around her neck or shoulder plus fix it so she can attach it to the side of her purse or hook on her belt loop. Since Brianna has seen Brooklynns ipod purse now she wants one too. So guess I will have to make one for her also. Still would like to make something to enter in our fair that we have in the fall. Don't know if I will or not.

At least that is what I keep telling myself, I'm sure that it will go faster than I think it will. I'm working on the railroad right now, have all the cars, sky finished. I have made another cradle purse need to send it to my husband's niece in Flordia. I think she will like it. I bought a little doll to put in it and made a little blanket. Finishing Train Afghan

Since it is freezing cold out I have again started on the train afghan. It is really a afghan for a small boy. Made with squares then you sew them together to make the picture. I will post pictures as I 'm sewing the afghan together. Plus I'm working on another cradle purse. I have finished a camera case and ipod case for my granddaughter Brooklynn. I have one more ipod case to make for our other granddaughter Brianna just waiting to see how big her ipod is so the ipod will fit in snug. Here is a picture of Brooklynns camera case and ipod case. The camera case has a button sewn on it and fastens with velcro. I think that Brooklynn will like it. Can't wait to give it to her.

Want to try to make Cathedral Rose Window Afghan. The colors in the afghan are so pretty. I also have another one that I would like to start on also. Here are some pics of the cradle purse and Ruperts tux that I made him :)

Thinking about Christmas

Well its time to start thinking about Christmas . I need to bake cookies for family and for some of the people that I work with. I just need to sort through my recipes ,I have some new ones that I haven't put in the baskets before and of course I will put in the favorites. I always make up nice little homemade gift packages for eight people at work. And for family they get large gift baskets that have homemade cookies, granola, choc. covered preztels, hot choc. mix, homemade breads. The baskets always end up bigger than what I plan!! :). I also need to go to the craft store and check out some ribbon to tie on the baskets, not sure what I really want. Think I will hang little gingerbread men ornaments (that I make) on them also. Ok now that I have that figured out.....just need to get busy with rest. Like making a list :), setting up the Christmas tree and a few other christmas items around the house. Better finish this cup of coffee and get busy its early in the morning sooooo ....... I should be able to get alot done today....... MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I Love to Crochet

I love to crochet!!! I taught myself how to crochet about 20 years ago. Was just a homemaker then, guess I shouldn't say just a homemaker. That is a job you know. I started just making granny squares. I had so many squares I didn't really know what to do with them. So my daughter and one of the neighbor girls decided that they needed rugs, blankets ect ..... for their Barbie dolls. I crocheted several together for the blankets and rugs for the Barbie homes. They were so happy played for hours with the dolls. Now I'm making squares for my granddaughters Barbie dolls ! They love them. I have several projects started now. Don't know what one will be finished first. I usually do have several projects going at the same time. Just finished a Baby Blanket for my husbands brother and his girl friend. Made a cig. case for my sister-in law. I'm currently working on a child's afghan blanket with a train on it will post a picture of it as I start putting it all together. Not sure who will get the train. I want to start a afghan now to enter in our fair in Sept., maybe I will enter more than one just depends on how everything works out :)
