Company Coming!!!

Our three granddaughter came to our house Saturday and spent the night with us.
It was so much fun to have them here. They are growing up so fast. The girls and I went over to great grandmas house so she could visit with them for a little bit. The girls are starting to tower over grandma didn't realize how tall they had gotten till I saw them standing by her. I had made a doll blanket out of some left over crocheted squares that I had and gave the baby blanket to Bridgette for her dolls . I still have a bunch left over so maybe she will get a few more baby blankets. I have been trying to sort through all the yarn and projects that I have started crocheting, what a mess!!!

We grilled cheeseburgers, chicken breast and made some mac n cheese. Our oldest loves mac n cheese so that was about all she would eat! After supper we walked over to the store and bought some ice cream sandwiches then later we had some strawberrys and shortcake with cream hmmmmm .

Grandpa fell asleep! So the two younger ones played games on the computer and Brooklynn and I watched a movie. What a nice evening. Thank you to my daughter for giving me these three precious grandchildren.

Well a few more cups of coffee and I am off to the backyard to work in the flower beds. My husband started spreading the mulch but didn't get to far, so I'm going out to try to finish. I'm off work till July 5 !!!! Now maybe I can actually get a few things done. :)

Windmill Bag

The Windmill Bag is almost done. All need is my handles which I haven't bought yet but intend to soon. The pattern is really simple and easy. Its just putting it together that is sort of tricky. I had to take some scrap yarn and tie it together so I could see how the strips were to go together. After I got the strips temporarily together I could then see how it would look.

I just used Sugar'n Cream Naturals, Sonoma print. It is a 4 ply cotton yarn. The bag turned out great for what I want to use it for. The pattern calls for Plymouth yarn Boku and Galway Yarn, you will also need purse handles I saw some at our local craft store. I found the Boku yarn on Yarn.com and GalwayYarn on Yarncountry.com. Then next time I make one , I do think that I will use the yarn that was suggested in the pattern.
The stitches are just a hdc and fpsc and bpsc. So easy!!! plus it doesn't need a lining with this stitch. I'm not really ready to get the sewing machine out yet! I havent' sewed in years not even sure I remember how to work the sewing machine!:)
